Copy documents to your local site
Before you start the Dreamweaver tutorial , you need to set up a local site and copy a folder into the site. The integrated file browser in the Site panel enables you to view your local disk and network. This is useful for working with files that are not in the current site showing in the Site panel and can save you from having to work outside of Dreamweaver when you need to located files, documents and images.

To copy pages to your site:
Select Window > Site to open the Site panel.
In the Site panel, from the Site pop-up menu, select the name of the site you defined in the previous Training CD.
If you have not defined a site, see The Dreamweaver training course that covers this. You will need to define a site before you continue with this tutorial.

When you select the site name from the pop-up menu, Dreamweaver displays the files in the site.

Expand the Desktop see your available disks and drives on your local and networked computers.
Expand folders as necessary to reach the Dreamweaver application folder, and then expand the Training CD / courses folder.
In the working files folder, expand the RU Playing folder, then select the Code folder, and press Control+C (Windows) or Command+C (Macintosh) to copy it.
Scroll back to the top of the Site panel, and select the site folder.
Press Control+V (Windows) or Command+V (Macintosh) to paste a copy of the folder in your site.

To view the web pages:
Choose Window > Site to open the Site panel.
Expand folders as necessary to reach the Dreamweaver application folder, and then expand the RU Playing folder.
In the RU Playing folder, expand the GettingStarted folder, then expand the Members folder.
In the members folder, double-click index.htm to open it, then double-click Members-list.htm.
Dreamweaver displays the pages in the Document window.

Close the pages when you are finished.
